Bio Jonathan Hogan
Jonathan Hogan is a husband, father, author, minister, singer, songwriter and lover of Jesus Christ. Jonathan is based out of Birmingham, Alabama and he ministers itinerantly at churches, conferences, small groups, home groups and other events. His ministry focus is geared towards helping people become intimate with the Lord Jesus, walk in personal freedom and step into their calling.
Jonathan fulfills his focus by leading people into an atmosphere of the Presence of God. His ministry takes the form of prophetic ministry, worship, song of the Lord, teaching and praying for the release of God's healing power. His teachings focus on Intimacy with Jesus, the Kingdom of Heaven and how believers may "know the Lord and do great exploits."
Jonathan's background is rich in biblical studies, ministry training and personal intimacy with the Lord Jesus Christ. As a young man Jonathan studied and graduated from Briarwood Christian School. By the time he graduated high school he had completed extensive training in Old and New Testament studies, Interpretation, In-depth study of the New Covenant Gospels and Epistles, Marriage and Family studies, Introduction to Systematic theology, and more.
In the year 2000 he encountered the manifest presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. After this initial encounter with the Lord his entire life changed and he began to seek the Lord in private for hours every day. During this season Jonathan feels he met the God of the Bible in a profound way and it has affected everything in his life ever since. Jonathan has since felt delivered from his overly dogmatic early years and is joyful in knowing Jesus as a living breathing Lord rather than an impersonal God studied in a classroom. In addition to receiving his bachelors degree in music from the University of Southern Mississippi, Jonathan has received continued training in Biblical foundations, prophetic ministry, inner healing prayer, teaching and prayer for physical healing. He has understudied under such ministers as Charles Kraft (fuller theological), Judy Taber (Hearts Set Free International Ministries) and Elaine Gentry (Tender Mercies Ministries).
Between 2006 and 2014 Jonathan pastored an evening service in which the presence of the Lord was made the central focus and the miraculous touch of God moved in great strength for deliverance, healing and prophecy. Through these ministry nights the Lord began to move him into an individual ministry as well as corporate church ministry. Jonathan's passion for intimacy with Jesus has led him to focus his attention on walking in the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit.
Jonathan's background has given him understanding how religious spirits seek to hinder Gods people from intimacy with Him. Removing false religious burdens is a strong theme of Jonathan's teaching. Jonathan believes that it is vital for the body of Christ to "know their God" and once they know him they will "do great exploits". dan 11 (healing, signs, wonders). He believes there has been a lot of teaching about doing things for God (religious focus) but not much understanding exists on how to shift into intimately knowing Him (Grace Focus). Additionally, hearing God, waiting on God, seeking God, the love of God and walking with God are strong themes in his ministry. He believes that the relationship is the gateway to doing things the Lord is leading.
